2013 Cabernet Sauvignon

WINEMAKER NOTES :

Dark ruby in color. Bold spicy nose with aromas of blackberry, plum, and toasted oak. Flavors of black currant, cranberry, chocolate, and black raspberry with a nice balance of tannins. Smooth finishing, with notes of vanilla, espresso, cherry and caramel.

$20.00 — $240.00

PAIRING NOTES :

2013 Brave Horse Cabernet would go great with BBQ, given its bold nose and smoky oak nuances. Pairs great with any sharp cheeses, or with your favorite steak, slow roasted Tri Tip, or a pizza topped with shredded pork rib or prosciutto, caramelized onions, and a nice gorgonzola. This Cab would also go great with a plate of pulled pork, red wine vinegar slaw, brown sugar baked beans with cornbread.  Whether it be a white tablecloth setting in a dining room, or on a blanket in a park enjoying a great the sunset, this Cab will pair well with any setting!

WINEMAKER SOURCING AND HARVEST NOTES :

2013 in Lodi was a cooler year compared to other years, but that did our block of Cabernet a lot of good. The grape clusters hung on the vine until late October and then we picked these grapes once the brix and tannins came into balance. We think this Cabernet Sauvignon has great fruit, tannin, and acid balance. To blend the perfect balance, we added a little Sarah to bring a fruitier note to this smooth Cabernet that we hope you enjoy.
